Love this little park. Not to many people, little dip in the stream, and some bbq with friends. Great place
Very picturesque covered bridge built in 1872 and quite a few picnic areas with grilling. Small parking lot, but not that crowded. Not much to do besides that, but very cool.
covered bridges are cool by design and we try to swing by any we encounter during our adventures. this time we were on a 3 day motorcycle outing and made a trip out of our way to check out the bridge. photographers (professional) galore... taking family photos, blocking access to the bridge itself without even acknowledging our presence. we didn't feel like being rude and barging in to see the bridge so we left. thanks locals.. nice warming welcome.
We really enjoy visiting Sandy Creek. Right under the bridge is a small beach. The water is shallow and a great place for little ones to play. If you go left, the creek deepens and you can swim. Lots of minnows and crawdads to catch. Picnic tables and rustic restrooms are available.
Had a great time at this park. The bridge is beautiful and it was a ton of fun to bring the dog with. The drive to get out to it was beautiful. Its a great place to have a picnic or to grill out. Lots of shade and places to sit. I also enjoyed the little history shelter that talked about the history of the bridge. Great place to bring the family!
